Midterms are over, the semester’s dragging, and everyone’s tired. Here’s what’s actually helped me not to fall apart:
Get some sleep. Go to bed at a reasonable time. Pulling an all-nighter usually just means you’ll be useless for the next two days.
Make time for breaks. Put your breaks on your calendar the same way you would a class or work shift. Because if it’s not scheduled, chances are it won’t happen.
Take care of yourself. Go for a walk between classes, even if it’s a short one. And eat an actual meal instead of surviving on coffee and whatever’s in the vending machine.
Break up big assignments. A ten-page paper feels a lot less overwhelming when you spread it out over a few afternoons instead of trying to tackle it all at once.
Know when to ask for help (and when to say no). Go to office hours before you’re drowning, not after. Professors can be a lot more helpful when you reach out early. And remember, it’s okay to say no to things. You don't have to join every club or take on every role in a group project.
Take a break from your phone. Scrolling might feel like resting, but it really isn't. Put your phone down for a bit and talk to your friends about how stressed you are. Chances are they're feeling the same way.
BUT THE BIGGEST TIP OF ALL? COME TO THE OCC!!!!!!!
